The short version
StudentGrantCalculator.ie has no accounts, no sign-up and no database of users. We do not collect, store or sell personal data. Everything you type into the calculator is processed in your own browser and never sent to our servers.
What happens to what you type
The figures you type into the calculator stay on your device. Where the site offers to remember your work between visits, that data is kept in your browser’s local storage only. Clearing your browser data removes it. We have no copy and no way to see it.
Analytics
We use two measurement tools. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies. Google Analytics 4 shows us how pages and calculators are used: which tool you open, whether you change the inputs, how long the page stays open. Google Analytics sets cookies only if you consent in the Google consent window shown to visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (the same window that covers advertising, see below). If you decline, it runs without cookies and does not recognise you between visits. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles this data.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard technical logs (IP addresses, request data) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Advertising
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies (such as the DoubleClick/Google Ads cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, a consent banner lets you accept or decline this before any personalised ads load. You can review or withdraw consent at any time through the “Privacy and cookie settings” link in the footer, and you can control ad personalisation generally at Google Ads Settings. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services for details.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to or restrict its processing. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). This site keeps no personal data on our servers, so in practice this concerns the analytics described above; email us and we will help.
